The short version
- We collect only what we need to match you with a contractor and complete the work.
- We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
- We share the details a contractor needs to quote the job; they do not see your phone number or email until you accept their quote.
- You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.
1. Who we are
HoneyDid, Inc. ("HoneyDid," "we," "us," "our") is a Michigan-based managed home-maintenance service. We control the personal information described below.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in three buckets:
- Information you give us: your name, email, phone number, property address, the description and photos of the job, communications with support, and payment information you enter when booking a job. Contractors who apply also provide business details, insurance certificates, W9 forms, and banking details needed for payouts.
- Information we generate: request identifiers, job history, ratings you leave, and records of your interactions with the Service.
- Information collected automatically: device type, browser, approximate location from IP address, pages visited, referring pages, and similar technical data. Cookies and similar technologies are used to keep you signed in and measure product usage.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Match you with qualified contractors and coordinate scheduling.
- Process payments and remit contractor payouts.
- Communicate with you about requests, bookings, and service updates.
- Improve the Service, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
- Send optional marketing emails that you can unsubscribe from at any time.
4. When we share information
We share personal information only in these situations:
- With contractors, to the extent needed to quote and perform the job. Before you accept a quote, a contractor sees the property address neighborhood, scope, and photos. After you accept, they receive the full address and contact details.
- With service providers that help us operate the platform (Supabase, Stripe, PostHog, email delivery, etc.). These vendors are bound by confidentiality and data protection agreements.
- For legal reasons, if required by subpoena, court order, or applicable law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of HoneyDid or others.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to the same privacy commitments.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
5. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access or export the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete your account and associated personal information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Opt out of marketing emails (unsubscribe link in every message).
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@honeydid.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
6. Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal and accounting obligations. Request records are typically retained for seven years. Backup copies are deleted on a rolling schedule.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields, role-based access, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take the responsibility seriously.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
If we update this policy materially, we will notify you by email or an in-app banner. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
