Terms of Service

Welcome to HoneyDid. These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you," "your") and HoneyDid, Inc. ("HoneyDid," "we," "us," "our"), governing your access to and use of our websites, apps, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, submitting a request, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. What HoneyDid is
HoneyDid is a managed home-maintenance service that connects homeowners in Michigan and select surrounding areas with independent contractors who provide exterior home services. We are not a contractor. We do not perform services ourselves. We operate the platform, coordinate scheduling, and handle payment between homeowners and contractors.
2. Accounts
You may need to create an account to use certain features. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it current. You are responsible for all activity on your account and for keeping your credentials confidential. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to form a binding contract.
3. Homeowner responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about the property, scope of work, and any known hazards.
- Grant lawful access to the property at agreed-upon times.
- Pay for services booked through the Service according to the terms presented at booking.
- Communicate promptly and honestly about completion and any issues.
4. Contractor relationship
Contractors listed on HoneyDid are independent businesses. They are not employees, partners, or agents of HoneyDid. HoneyDid does not supervise, direct, or control the means or methods by which contractors perform services. Each contractor is solely responsible for their work, tools, insurance, licensing, and tax obligations.
We perform reasonable vetting (insurance, license lookups where applicable, reference checks) but we do not warrant any specific outcome. Workmanship is the contractor's responsibility.
5. Fees and payment
Homeowners pay HoneyDid for services booked through the Service. Pricing is presented before booking and may include:
- A recurring subscription fee for plans that include recurring services.
- An all-in price for each one-off job, presented as a single proposal. The proposal price includes the contractor's work, materials, and the HoneyDid platform fee (currently 5–10% depending on subscription tier). HoneyDid does not add separate fees on top of the proposal price at checkout.
We remit contractor earnings via Stripe Connect after a short hold that lets us confirm completion. Platform fees are retained by HoneyDid. Sales taxes, if applicable, are the customer's responsibility unless otherwise stated.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel a request before a contractor has been dispatched at no charge. Once a contractor is en route or has begun work, cancellation may incur a fee reflecting the contractor's time. Subscriptions renew automatically and can be canceled at any time before the next renewal date.
If work is not performed to a reasonable standard, contact us at support@honeydid.com within 7 days of completion. We will work with you and the contractor in good faith to make it right.
7. Prohibited use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Attempt to access accounts or data you are not authorized to access.
- Circumvent HoneyDid by contacting contractors directly to avoid platform fees. If we detect this pattern we may suspend or terminate accounts on either side.
- Post content that is defamatory, harassing, or otherwise harmful.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. HoneyDid does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HoneyDid and its officers, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or in connection with the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the fees you paid to HoneyDid in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars, whichever is greater.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless HoneyDid from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict of laws principles. You and HoneyDid agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Kent County, Michigan, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice (for example, by email or a banner in the app). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
